We want everyone to be able to use our website, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnifiers, voice control or other assistive tools.

Our goal

Our goal is for skistubborngoat.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. These are the widely used international guidelines for making websites easier to use for people with disabilities.

We're a small shop and we check the site ourselves. We have not had an outside accessibility audit, so we don't claim the site is perfect. If something doesn't work for you, we want to know.

What we've done

Every page has a "Skip to main content" link and a clear heading structure.
The whole site works with a keyboard, with a visible outline showing where you are.
Photos have text descriptions (alt text). Decorative pictures are hidden from screen readers.
The reviews slideshow has a Pause button and stops moving when you hover over it or move into it with the keyboard.
Our repair video is silent (it has no sound or speech), so it doesn't need captions. It has a Pause button, and it won't play by itself if your device is set to reduce motion. The same repair steps are written out in words, with photos, right under the video.
Our contact form has clear labels, and error messages tell you what to fix.
Links that open a new tab say so.
Prices are written so screen readers read them clearly.
We check color contrast so text is easy to read.

Known limits

Other websites. Links to ski resorts, Caltrans, Google Maps, Instagram and review sites take you to websites we don't control. Their accessibility is up to them.
Photo gallery. We add new photos over time. If a photo description is missing or unclear, please tell us and we'll fix it.
